With the reopening of the Yamazaki Distillery after the recent renovation in 2023, they have released this much anticipated sample bottling of a Spanish Oak offering of Yamazaki bottled at a beautiful 48% alcohol. As rumour would have it, this is the same or similar liquid to what is in the Yamazaki Tsukuriwake Spanish Oak and the ABV leads us to believe this is true.
As detailed on the bottle, this single malt whisky contains only carefully selected smoky whiskies aged in Spanish Oak casks from among the variety of distinctive Yamazaki Distillery malt whiskies. As well as the depth typical of Yamazaki Malt, it has a rich, fruity, spicy, bitter and softly smoky noses to be enjoyed. In order to enjoy the flavors of this whisky, they used a non chill filtered manufacturing method.
