Shipping & Returns Policy’s

 
  • We ship all items using the best courier services that we can for the shipping costs. In some cases we may use alternative Couriers if we believe this will get the item to you faster. All deliveries are insured by us at our cost but in some cases we are unable to insure the entire cost due to insurance limits with couriers.

    We are unable to guarantee shipping times but will always do our best to find the most efficient courier possible. If you need the item by a particular date, please do reach out to us first so we can advise if this date can be met.

    As per the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998, if you are asked for proof of age on delivery, you must provide a valid acceptable proof of age card. Importantly, all deliveries must be signed by an adult over the age of 18 as proof of receipt by an adult at the intended address.

    Sendle Courier Policy:
    Sendle will attempt to deliver to the address and if no adult is available to sign for the delivery, you are able to contact them through the contact card that is left, to arrange for a secondary time to deliver. If no one is available to sign for the delivery on 2nd attempt, the delivery is returned to us.

    Aramex Courier Policy:
    The Carrier is authorised to deliver the Goods at the address nominated by the Customer. If neither re-delivery nor pick up by the Receiver can be effected within 7 days, the Carrier may return the Goods to the Customer.

    Australia Post Policy:
    We use Sendle as a primary courier service, but in some cases, due to lack of coverage, we will send out deliveries via Australia Post.

    Australia Post will attempt the initial delivery and if no one is available to sign for the delivery, the package will be sent to the nearest Australia post depot where you must then collect the item from with suitable identification.

    Returned Deliveries:
    Any returned items due to failed attempted deliveries will have 2 options.

    1. We can re send the delivery to you at your cost. Cost of shipping on re-delivery will be calculated and quoted and you will have the option to include or not include insurance. Whisky Discovery normally absorbs the insurance costs and these are not quoted in our flat rate shipping that you normally pay for. On redelivery, this will be a cost that you will need to pay for, or decide to not include

    2. A refund of the product minus the total shipping cost (Including any insurance that we pay for) and a 10% (of the item cost) restocking fee can be offered to you should you choose to not have us resend the item

  • As an independent small business trying to offer Whisky out to you at the lowest prices possible, we work off a very small margin. We ask that you please take this into account and choose carefully when purchasing. There are costs and fees associated with refunds and these costs are passed to the consumer if you have changed your mind or mistakenly ordered an incorrect/unwanted item.

    Whisky Discovery abides by the Australian Consumer Law and we therefore accept returns if there is an issue with the item you have ordered so please do get in touch with us if something is wrong so that we can attempt to resolve the issue. We consider an issue with the item as per the guidelines provided by the ACCC which indicates that the item must be as described, free from any un-noted flaws and in the condition that is described and seen in the product page.     Consumer Returns

    We do our best to insure items through delivery and take extra care in packaging to ensure that items are not damaged through freight.

    Please be aware of any noted wear and tear details included in the description of the items. Most items are acquired through auction and have been stored by collectors. It is not unusual to have minor signs of wear on packaging and we do our best to make special mention of out of the ordinary wear and tear.

  • If you change your mind and request a refund prior to us shipping the item out to you (Prior to the courier pick up) we are only able to issue you with a full refund minus our payment gateway processing fees. Please note that when we issue a refund, Stripe (Our payment gateway) do not refund the processing fee to us.

    As a small independent business, this can result in a large unwarranted cost to us which resulted from you changing your mind. We therefore have to pass on this processing fee and subtract it from your total refund. The link below details the policy from Stripe and unfortunately, we cannot absorb the fee for this when consumers change their mind.
