Strathisla 1964 48 Year Old Gordon & Macphail
Very simply put, bottles like this, excite me! 1964 was a golden year for Whisky highlighted mainly with the Bowmore releases from that time. Add on the fact that this liquid was additionally matured for 48 years in the barrel, bottled in 2013, is almost guaranteeing magic. Strathisla as a distillery, is also a sleeper, but keep in mind a 1967 Strathisla sits in the Whiskybase top 10 highest rates bottles ever released. Strathisla is also one of the oldest operating distillery’s in Scotland.
We’ve recently geared alot of our buying and sourcing of whisky’s from this era as we strongly believe in it. Some of the best bottles I have personally tasted, are from this era and in such high demand, with such a fast rate of diminishing bottles.
With some incredible reviews all placing this bottle at above the 92+ rating on Whiskybase.
