Mortlach 1936 43 Year Old Gordon & Macphail
We are proud to present another “grail” bottle for you. Bottles like this (Pre World War 2 Liquid) don’t come across our desk often. An absolute gem of a bottle from with liquid from nearly 100 Years old. Bottled under the Gordon & Macphail Connoisseur’s Choice range and in fairly good condition for a 45 year old bottle (Minor wear and creasing on the label).
This particular bottle of Mortlach, was distilled in 1936 and bottled in the very late 70’s at 43 Years old. To put this in perspective, a current distillery bottling of Mortlach 30 Year will set you back close to $10,000 and a Mortlach 50 year about $50,000. Now If I had to choose between a vintage piece of history 1936 Mortlach and a current one, this would be an easy choice.
This bottle is also one of the highest rated bottles on Whiskybase:

Appears to be the only bottle available in Australia and I imagine, one of the last few full bottles left in the world.
